Plastic cups
Modern plastic cups: convenience and eco-friendliness
Disposable plastic cups have become so commonplace that it is impossible to imagine how people managed without them before. Now they are used not only in cafes and catering establishments, they can be found in any office or beauty salon where there is a cooler for visitors and employees. No trip to nature, be it a picnic or an outdoor event, can be imagined without disposable tableware, and in particular plastic cups with lids. They allow you to save time and effort on washing reusable dishes. This is problematic in nature. There is also a high probability that the dishes can be broken or deformed – this will not happen with plastic cups. Even if the cup is cracked, which happens extremely rarely, you can always take a new one from the set. Therefore, it is better to take packages to nature.
Plastic cups – disposable or not?
Plastic cups are generally not intended for reuse. Despite the fact that they are lightweight and at first glance do not look very durable, they are able to withstand significant influence of external negative factors. The material from which such containers are made copes well with:
- high and low temperatures, so the cups are suitable for hot and cold drinks;
- abundant moisture;
- the influence of ultraviolet radiation;
- even significant mechanical impact, so they are difficult to deform and break.
A wear-resistant material, in general, allows you to reuse such cups if these are special plastic cups designed for multiple use. In this case, they have special markings and are made of harder plastic. These can be branded cups and cups with a company logo. Visitors usually remember them well.
However, do not forget about the main advantage of disposable plastic cups – care for the health and hygiene of customers. They minimize the spread of diseases, viruses and germs, compared to reusable tableware. This is also beneficial for the owners of the establishments. A plastic cup is not only cheaper than a ceramic cup. It is important that you do not have to spend money on additional detergents, water and wages for workers.
Such cups also allow you to make sure that the filling really corresponds to what was on the menu. In this case, transparent cups are used. When this is not important, you can get by with more classic ones – brown, black or multi-colored.
Disposable cups – PET and other materials for Optipak products
Disposable cups are safe for human health if they are made from the right materials. Several types of plastic are used in the production of such tableware:
- PP or polypropylene, which can withstand quite high temperatures up to 100 degrees Celsius. Therefore, it is suitable for hot drinks. This is an elastic material that wrinkles but does not deform.
- PS polystyrene. You cannot pour boiling water into cups made of this material; at temperatures above 70 degrees Celsius, the material releases substances harmful to the body. Therefore, it is used in the manufacture of cups for cold drinks.
- A PET cup is more versatile and can withstand both low and high temperatures. It contains polyethylene terephthalate, which is designed for single use.
The Optipak company sells cups made exclusively from high-quality raw materials. They differ not only in the type of material, but also in shape and color. Before buying disposable cups, it is important to decide on the selection parameters.
Disposable cups can be large and small, and their cost will depend on this. Large ones are mainly ordered for cold drinks, small ones – for hot drinks. It is also better to buy glasses that match the style of the establishment, which will also have the company logo. This allows you to additionally advertise it. Such can be found on the Optipak website. There are multi-colored glasses in bulk to immediately and permanently provide yourself with high-quality products.
the most frequently asked questions
-
What types of plastic do you use to make your cups?
We use two main types of polymers: polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). PP cups are more flexible and suitable for both cold and moderately hot drinks, while PET cups are exceptionally clear and rigid, making them ideal for serving cocktails, desserts, and smoothies.
-
Are your glasses safe to use when in contact with drinks?
Yes, all products are made exclusively from primary food-grade raw materials that are free of bisphenol-A (BPA) and other harmful additives. Our cups are certified and fully comply with Ukrainian and EU sanitary and hygienic standards, guaranteeing their complete safety when in contact with food.
-
How durable are the glasses, do they crack in your hands?
Thanks to the use of high-quality polymer granules and a modern thermoforming method, our glasses are highly durable and optimally flexible. Special reinforcing ribs in the top and middle of the frame prevent deformation and cracking, even when the glass is completely filled with a drink.
-
Are plastic cups suitable for use in vending machines or coolers?
Our range includes specialized items that meet standard automatic dispensing dimensions (e.g., a 70.3 mm neck diameter). These cups feature precise geometry and an anti-static coating, preventing them from becoming stuck in vending machine components and ensuring proper operation of the coolers.
-
Does plastic affect the taste and smell of a drink?
Optipack plastic containers are made from chemically inert materials that do not react with their contents. This guarantees the absence of any specific polymer odor or taste, allowing the original aroma of coffee, juice, or pure drinking water to be fully preserved.
-
What is the minimum number of glasses that can be ordered?
We accept orders starting from a single factory package (case), the volume of which depends on the cup's capacity and typically ranges from 1,000 to 3,000 units. Purchasing directly from the manufacturer allows even small businesses to receive wholesale pricing without the need to maintain large inventories.
-
Is it possible to order branding (logo printing) on glasses?
Yes, we offer custom printing on plastic cups. Branded cups are an effective marketing tool for increasing the visibility of your coffee shop, catering service, or delivery service. We guarantee high image clarity and water-resistant inks.
-
How to properly dispose of your glasses?
All our products are 100% recyclable. Depending on the item you choose, you'll find a "1" (PET) or "5" (PP) marking on the bottom of the product; these cups should be disposed of in special plastic containers, after which they are sent to recycling plants for the production of new, useful products.
