Sealing cups
Heat-Seal Plastic Cups
Heat-seal plastic cups are plastic containers designed for packaging food products by sealing them with special foil or polyethylene film.
Heat-seal plastic cups are hermetically sealed, which not only protects the contents from spills but also extends their shelf life. Furthermore, this sealing method allows for brand recognition and popularity.
The primary material for our heat-seal cups is polypropylene (PP). It is ideal for heat-sealing, offers high chemical resistance, and can withstand hot filling.
However, with our own high-tech production facility, we also manufacture cups and sauceboats from polystyrene (PS) and PET. The choice of material depends on the transparency, rigidity, and temperature requirements of your product.
Applications of plastic sealable cups
Cups are used for hermetically sealed packaging of food products. They are used in various industries. They are most commonly used in:
- Dairies. For packaging dairy products: sour cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, cream, etc. Here, containers of various sizes and shapes are used, selected depending on the type of product.
- Brand stores. Using foil with a logo allows a company to stand out from its competitors. This increases brand awareness, builds trust and loyalty among end customers. This technique works well for both large companies and private entrepreneurs producing goods in small quantities.
- Wholesale and retail chains. In both cases, the products are in demand. The only difference is in scale and turnover.
- Dairy kitchens and farms. Here, the same dairy products are packaged in cups as in dairies. However, in this case, the entire production process from start to finish is carried out at a single facility, without intermediaries.
- Manufacturers of fast food products. A prime example of this is noodles.
Manufacturers of sauces, savory snacks, etc.
Types of heat-sealable cups
In the modern food industry, the choice of container directly depends on the physical and chemical properties of the product and the packaging technology. We produce cups and sauceboats that ensure a completely hermetic seal when using aluminum foil or polyethylene film, which is critical for extending shelf life.
Optipak Material Specifications:
- Polypropylene (PP) cups: Our primary standard for the dairy industry. Thanks to its high elasticity, polypropylene containers do not crack during transportation. The material has excellent adhesion, ensuring the most reliable and airtight seal during heat-sealing. PP cups are heat-stable, making them suitable for products requiring pasteurization or hot filling.
- Polystyrene (PS) cups: Products made of impact-resistant polystyrene are characterized by increased rigidity and a glossy finish. This is the ideal solution for dry goods, viscous sauces, and snacks where dimensional stability and a presentable display appearance are essential.
- PET Film Products: Thanks to our own PET sheet production, we produce cups and saucers with exceptional transparency. PET sealable packaging is the best solution for product promotion: it allows the customer to see the contents (for example, herb-infused sauces or vibrant desserts) while maintaining all protective barrier properties and a completely hermetic seal.
Packaging Features
Cups sealed with aluminum foil create a barrier to light and oxygen, which is essential for fatty products (sour cream, yogurt, sauces). Once the foil is opened, resealing is impossible, guaranteeing first-opening traceability for the end consumer.
For additional protection after opening, we recommend adding a plastic lid (snap-on lid) to the cups. It protects the contents from weathering, contamination, and odor absorption in the refrigerator after the foil or film layer has been removed.
All our products undergo strict material quality control and meet international food safety standards.

the most frequently asked questions
-
Are the cups suitable for automatic filling and sealing lines?
Our cups are manufactured to strict geometric specifications and come in standard neck diameters (e.g., 75 mm and 95 mm), ensuring full compatibility with most automatic and semi-automated lines. The smooth edge of the rim ensures a secure seal of the foil (plate) or film during heat sealing, preventing packaging defects.
-
What materials are sealing cups made of?
The main material is food-grade polypropylene (PP), which has excellent barrier properties and chemical resistance to food fats and acids. This material withstands temperature fluctuations, making it suitable for both hot filling and subsequent storage of products in refrigerated chambers.
-
Does the packaging provide an airtight seal and a long shelf life?
Thanks to the precisely designed sealing rim, our cups ensure a completely airtight seal, protecting the product from bacteria and foreign odors. This is critical for the dairy industry, as it helps preserve the freshness of yogurt, sour cream, and cottage cheese throughout the manufacturer's stated shelf life.
-
Are different cup colors available for product differentiation?
Yes, in addition to standard clear and white cups, we can produce a batch in a custom color scheme according to your brand book. This helps visually distinguish the product on the shelf (for example, yellow for sour cream or green for organic yogurts) and enhance brand recognition.
-
Are certificates provided for passing inspections at food production facilities?
Of course, all our packaging undergoes regular laboratory testing and is accompanied by a full package of documents, including sanitary and epidemiological reports and certificates of conformity. We guarantee that Optipack packaging meets all food safety requirements, simplifying your production's ISO certification process.
